Grooming Lounge Store Window Displays

  • Youre_the_man
Window displays at our Grooming Lounge stores are designed to really attract attention. Some people get a kick out of them while others find them a bit odd. We're fine with either reaction as our main goal is to get people inside the door to experience what the GL is all about. This photo album showcases just a few of our favorite displays. Click on the icon above to see if they're for you.

Grooming Lounge Products Repackage & Relaunch (Soon)

Gl_hair_hero_2When we first launched Grooming Lounge Shaving Solutions a few years back, we thought the products themselves were 100% perfect and the packaging was 92.4% ideal. More than 24 months removed from those initial introductions, we still feel the same way about the juice inside the tubes and bottles, but thought it might be time for a little packaging update for the tubes and bottles themselves.  So, we've been working diligently with some some pretty bright folks to more accurately showcase the GL brand in our product packaging.

The results are outstanding and you can look for new and improved shaving product packaging to be available by month's end online and in our stores.  Till such time, you'll be seeing some great promotions available on our existing packaging as we try to work our way through remaining inventory.  That's great news for those of you who could care less what the packaging looks like... and are only interested in what's inside.  What's inside is the same great Grooming Lounge Shaving Solutions you've been used to.

On other notes, in conjunction with the re-launch of our newly repackaged shave line, we are quite excited to debut Grooming Lounge Hair Care Solutions.  Consisting of a shampoo, conditioner and three top-shelf styling aids, these products are the result of some serious testing and re-testing by our Grooming Experts company-wide.

Stay tuned for more info if you feel so inclined.

Grooming Guy Waxes On Waxing

Chest_waxSo here's the deal.  We get calls pretty often from folks in the media looking for information or insight into the world of men's grooming.  We love getting such calls for many reasons --  the  most obvious of which is that media coverage gets our name out there so as many dudes as possible have awareness of the quality services and solutions we provide.  But secondly, and of even more importance, is that such media play allows us to educate men about proper grooming. You know...  share the grooming wisdom en route to helping guys look and feel  their best.  That's really been the Grooming Lounge's main goal since day one.

Anyhoo, recently got such a request to comment on the political hot-button issue that is "manscaping" (certainly not a term coined by us).  You know, to wax or not to wax? Chewbacca chest or bar mitzvah pecs? Smooth operator or rug salesman?  We answered their questions to the best of our abilities and the piece recently aired on the local D.C. FOX affiliate.  It's pretty entertaining and worth a watch.  Thanks to our buddy and respected guest E.J. who threw all pride out the window to get his chest waxed on television.

This Is Totally Nuts!

NutsFirst the folks at Balla Powder ventured into unchartered territory -- a guy's drawers.  They were the first company, to our knowledge, to market a product specifically focused on keeping things pleasant down there. Balls-y... huh? The product sacked the competition and is always among our best-sellers.

But listen to how nut-sy these guys are.  They just put their family jewels on the line and developed and launched two new product extensions.  After thorough teste-ing, the Balla staff has now launched:

These are most certainly products just for the boys and we know your fellas will love them.  We've rack-ed our brain for other ways to describe the products, but we're now stumped.

Please forgive this post, but don't forget to enjoy some Balla.  By the way, how's it hangin'?

Isn't She A Beaut?

Atlanta_plumbing_4Can't you just picture it now?  Check out this exclusive sneak peak of the new Grooming Lounge store in Atlanta. Luxury from wall to wall is the decor as you can clearly see.

Ahhh c'mon... we're just pulling your collective legs fellas.  No, not about the current state of our space in the beautiful Terminus building in Buckhead.  That's really how it looked as of last week.  But trust us, it's gonna look like a million bucks (and unfortunately, might cost about that much too) when it's done. We're still on track for a December opening if all falls into place (including that plumbing quagmire you see above).

Opening our first store outside of the D.C. Metro-area has taught us a few things:

  1. People in the South really are nice.  It's amazing the pride they take in their work and the level of respect they provide.  Not trying to ruffle any feathers, but when building out our local stores it always felt as if the contractors thought we were doing them a favor by honoring them with our business. It's the opposite so far down there.  Very refreshing.
  2. Traffic in Atlanta is horrible.  We thought people were kidding when they said it was worse than D.C.  They were most certainly not.
  3. Georgia guys take a lot of pride in their appearance.  During our trips down there we've seen more than our fair share of dapper dudes.  Nice suits, shoes and the cleanliness and quality of the cars is astonishing.
  4. Great food. Two words -- The Vortex.

Thanks for listening.  More updates on GL, ATL coming soon.

Random Thoughts From Antoinette

AntoinetteThis is Antoinette.  She's our V.P. of Pretty Much Everything -- runs the stores, orders our products, gets really annoyed with the Grooming Guys, etc. She's certainly a superstar and great leader.  The Grooming Guys recently sat down with Ant to get her thoughts on what's happening at our company, the industry and her life in general:

  1. ATLANTA: "I'm super excited about our new store opening in Atlanta.  It's our first store out of town, which will certainly pose it's challenges.  That said, we're bringing an army down there to make sure the Grooming Lounge way is translated perfectly in the south and our service doesn't miss a beat at any of our destinations."
  2. PRODUCTS: "When people want to sell new products into the company, the call on me.  I love getting the stuff, but since I don't shave my face (thank the almighty), I have to hand it out to the guys around the office and the barbers in our store.  It really is amazing how many men's brands are out there now.  I literally get a package a day from a new company trying to promote everything from shave cream to eye cream."
  3. MY SHIRT:  "What are your thoughts on the shirt I'm wearing in this picture?"
  4. OUR TEAM:  "We are really lucky to have a solid team here at the Grooming Lounge. I've heard horror stories about some places in the salon industry -- and even though we in no way consider ourselves a salon (we don't even use the S word) -- it would be easy for folks to lump us into that category.  Our crew here is 100% focused on providing great customer and technical service.  We're committed to not wasting time gossiping, chewing gum and complaining.  We're trying to set a new standard. We want the men who visit us on line and come into our stores to feel like kings."
  5. THE FUTURE:  I see the men's grooming industry continuing to flourish.  Even though it's been getting a lot of attention over the last several years, it's still not 100% mainstream.  The more guys are aware of the products and services available to them out there, the more the more in demand they will be. We're just one of the folks trying to spread the grooming gospel.
